What is Hatha Yoga?

This 75-minute class focuses on stretching and strengthening all areas of the body by moving through a variety of poses. We begin with gentle stretching and warm-ups, then gradually move into more challenging poses and balance work, followed by a period of relaxation . The importance of proper breathing, safety, and checking in with your body's internal guidance system are stressed. A total yoga experience.
Restorative Yoga A 75-minute class that includes gentle stretching of all major muscle groups on the mat combined with conscious breathing, or pranayama, to promote physical and mental relaxation. Ahhhh….
Sun Salute

Sun Salute Yoga-a 60 minute class featuring a series of Sun Salutations, beginning with gentle warm-ups and gradually adding more challenging poses within the series. This is NOT a power yoga class, but it is definitely a more active style of yoga. The focus is on listening to your body as you increase your strength, endurance, and flexibility. A great way to start your day!

Gentle Yoga
This 75-minute class is appropriate for anyone wishing to experience a more gentle style of yoga. Emphasis is placed on correct form and a variety of modifications are given for all body types and ages. We will explore floor and standing poses, balance poses, stretching and breath work. Excellent for beginners!

Tai Chi A form of traditional Chinese mind/body exercise and meditation that uses slow sets of body movements and controlled breathing. Tai chi is done to improve balance, flexibility, muscle strength and overall health.
Callanetics

A muscle toning class of either 60 or 90 minutes, consisting of high repetitions of small precise movements. This form of exercise was designed by a ballet dancer and uses a ballet bar and mat work. You will feel your muscles working, for sure!

Pilates
60 minutes of “core” work on the mat for the abdominals, back, and upper body to increase strength and improve posture. Your abs will thank you.

Power Yoga

The class will be a mixture of Power Yoga with elements of Ashtanga . There will be a lot of vinyasa flow and for the most part the class will be moving continuously with sun salutations to link both standing and seated postures. Modifications will be given so that everyone can benefit. Think of it as a yoga salad if you will!

Belly Dance

Kristen artfully combines traditional belly dance with other dance styles from across the world. You'll enjoy this unique fun experience while simultaneously burning calories & improving muscle tone.

Belly Dance is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. No dance experience necessary!

NIA Jam
